      *an ancestry user has left a correction to say the M was not correct. But Nancy's obituary has the surviving husband to be Thomas M. Berkshire.

      DIED FROM SHOCK
      Mrs. Nancy J. Berkshire Did Not Recover After Operation Was Preformed
      Mrs. Nancy J. Berkshire, wife of Thomas Berkshire, died at Culver Union hospital Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She had undergone a critical operation earlier in the day. A large fibroid tumor was removed. She failed to withstand the nervous shock. The deceased was a member of the United Brethren church of Mt. Zion, northwest of the city, and was a good Christian woman with many friends. She lived four and a half miles west of this city. She was forty-seven years old and leaves a husband, as no children came to bless her home. She leaves three brothers, E. Boraker, John Boraker and Arcanie Boraker, all of this county, and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Coolie of California.
      The body was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Swan, 409 west Main street, at two on Thursday afternoon. The services will be conducted by Rev. Nye, who will be assisted by Rev. Mater.

      Nancy Jane Boraker, daughter of Daniel and Nancy Boraker, was born May 14, 1860, four miles west of this city. She resided on the same farm where she was born until the time of her death. She was married to Thomas M. Berkshire December 4, 1879, by Rev. Vancleave. She united with the United Brethren church at Mt. Zion in early life and continued a faithful member throughout life. She was a kind wife and always maintained a cheerful disposition. She loved her neighbors and friends, always greeting them with a smile that won for her a host of friends. She will be missed in the home and by the entire community for she was well known.
      Mrs. Berkshire leaves her husband and one sister, Mrs. Sarah A. Cooles of Colton, California, and three brothers, Alcaney Boraker of this place, and John Boraker of Aurora, Mo., and Ebbie Boraker of Marionsville, Mo. The funeral occurred at her home of Mrs/ Swan, a cousin of the deceased at 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Elmer mater of the U.B. Church officiating, assisted by Rev. W.E. Stanley. Interment in Masonic cemetery.
