Notes |
- Quote from NYG&B Record, Vol 47, pg 412: "The Rev John Thomas, who died between March, 1725 and Dec., 1726, mentions in his will his wife Margaret (the dau. of Col. Richard Floyd and Margaret Nicoll), a son John (not of age) and two daughters Margaret and Gloriana. He bequeathes 150 pounds 'for the building of a house at Rye' for his 'widow to live in'. This is mentioned to show that in all probability, his widow and his three children, removed to Rye shortly after his death.
"The daughter Margaret married, not John, but Samuel Treadwell of Rye, as proved by the latters will, in which he mentions his wife Margaret, also their children, and appoints his brother-in-law John Thomas, as one of the executors."
