  David's middle name taken from his daughter, Rosa Florence Jackson's Delayed Birth Record. David's first wife Mary Ann and their baby son named David S. Jackson, Jr. both died on the same day in January 1899. David. having an empty heart and houseful of children remarried to Matilda (MNU) and by Oct 13, 1902 they had a son which they named David S. Jackson, Jr. But nine days later, 22 Oct 1902, David Sr. died leaving Matilda with her new son and several step-children. It appears that Matilda waited until her step-children were all married (except maybe Laura?) before she married again. In 1909 Matilda married Thomas Clark and together they raised David S.
