      Obituary:

      Alva D. Kinney, 83, of 217 N. Jackson St., New Lexington, died at 4:30 am Saturday, Dec 24, 1988 at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a short illness.

      Mr. Kinney was a coal miner. He retired after 40 years with Ludowici Celadon Tile Plant in New Lexington. He was a mmeber of New Lexington Nazarene Church.

      He was born July 17, 1905, in Crooksville, to Hayes and Jane Bradford Kinney.

      Mr. Kinney was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth White Kinney in 1984; and by two brothers and three sisters.

      Surviving are two sons, Charles of Junction City Route 1 and Fred of New Lexington; eight grandchildren and two step children; a brother, Charles of Crooksville.

      Services were at 1 pm Tuesday in New Lexington Church of the Nazarene wit hthe Rev. Randy Lanahan officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. The body was taken to the church from Chute-Wiley Funeral Home one hour prior to services.
