Johnny J. Jackson, 56, of Denver, Tennessee died in Vanderbilt Hospital, September 30, after an illness of 5 weeks. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. October 3 at Ebenezer Church by E.T. McCoy of Camden and U.P. Chambers of Ripley, Tennessee. Burial was in the Ebenezer cemetery with Garland-Hensley in charge.
Mr. Jackson was a commercial fisherman and a native of Humphreys County. He was the son of the late Ross Jackson and Mrs. Ella Cravens Jackson, and a member of the Assembly of God.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Macil Chappell Jackson of Denver; three sons, Bobby, Oneal, and Jerry Wayne, all of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby Burkett, Denver and Mrs. Clay Turner, Chicago, Ill.; four brothers, Carl, Genie, Elmer, and Max of Denver; four sisters, Mrs. John Etheridge, Denver, Mrs. Herbert Wheeler, Memphis, Mrs. James Edwards, Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Stanley Damesworth, Gleason, Tennessee and 10 grandchildren.
