THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, August 23, 1999, page 4B: 'Eugene Edelhouser, 78, of Honey Grove died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Herbert Sherwood officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born May 8, 1921, in Honey Grove to Ernest and Dorothy Hallie Beasley Edelhouser. He was a lifelong farmer in the Forrest Hill community, was employed at 82 West Truck Stop for a number of years, and later at Champion Homes in Honey Grove. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Margaret Ann 'Annie' Jackson, Nov. 28, 1946. She died Feb. 2, 1982.
He served in the Army during World War 11 with the 86th Calvary Reconnaissance Squadron for three years. He was discharged with the Silver Star, Bronze Star, EAME Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Johnny (Anajadean) Satcher of Paris; brothers, Donald Edelhouer of Forrest Hill and Bill Edelhouser of Paris; grandchildren Misty and Cory Satcher of Paris; and nieces and nephews, Tony Edelhouser, Tammy Edelhouser, Amber Edelhouser, and Judy Graves. Pallbearers will be Roger Unruh, Buck Slagle, Tony Edelhouser, Randy Whitten, John Lee Haliburton and Bob Setzer.'
