A burglar who helped himself to an elderly Warren County couple's silverware left a shoe behind.
State police were called to a residence on Old Pittsfield Road in Pittsfield Township at 4:30 a.m. Saturday after the owners reported being robbed.
Someone entered the home of Roderic and Marjorie Jackson by forcing open the kitchen door, Trooper Daniel C. Moore said. Once inside, the burglar rummaged through the couple's dining room china cabinet.
Moore said the burglar was apparently startled by Roderic Jackson and ran out of the house with a cabinet drawer containing silverware and a hearing aid battery charger. The burglar left his right shoe behind in the driveway the trooper said. The shoe was a brown leather Stanford size 10 with the words earth shoe stamped in the tongue and printed inside the shoe...”
Based on the fact that Pittsfield is close to Youngsville, Warren County, Pennsylvania, I would assume that this is Roderic A. Jackson, but I have no other proof. But the following funeral notice posted in the Warren Times-Observer confirms the address.
RODERIC JACKSON 3/13/2007 - Mr. Roderic A. Jackson, 85, of RD 2 Box 356 (Old Pittsfield Road), Pittsfield, Pa.
