• Notes

  Census information on Myrta has been difficult to find. At least her brothers, Raymond and Charles, have stated on census records that they were born in Kansas. I have found no census info for Myrta either before or after her marriage. Matella Prickett Doughman has written that Myrta married Orville Conant in 1906 and had children Harley b 1907; Opal b 1909; Leland b 1911; and Norma b 1912. I could find none of them in any census. Perhaps Orville's last name is misspelled?? LATER! I found Myrta in 1900 Census Verdigris Twp., Holt Co., Nebraska living with her aunt Anna Belle (Jackson) and uncle James T. Patterson. Her name is nearly illegible and looks like Mirtey M. Jackson. This Mirtey is born Aug 1886 in Kansas, same as Anna Belle's neice Myrta. So it's likely that Myrta and her husband were married in Nebraska. Mrs. Doughman records their marriage but not the location.
