      Linda Kay Smith Knotts, 55, of Mineral Wells, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

      She was born in Parkersburg, the daughter of Olandus Coleman and Nannie Mae McCoy Smith of MacFarlan. She was a graduate of Harrisville High School and Parkersburg Beauty College. She worked as a hairdresser in Parkersburg for several years. She was a member of Pettyville United Methodist Church, serving in many leadership capacities.

      Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband of 37 years, James Earl Knotts; mother-in-law, Hazel Knotts of Grantsville; one daughter, Aleacia Peer of Halifax, Va.; one granddaughter, Ashley Peer of Halifax; one sister, Diana Evans of Mineral Wells; two brothers, Robert Smith of Mineral Wells and Richard Lewis of Davisville; one brother-in-law, Thomas Knotts of Coming, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Norma Shaffer of Grantsville; five nephews; seven nieces; and 12 great-nieces and great­-nephews.

      She was preceded in death by one brother, Olandus "Buddy" Smith; father-in-law, Robert Joseph Knotts, Jr.; and one brother-in-­law, Dallas R. Evans.

      Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg, with Rev. James Arbogast officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.
