Christine was a very pretty lady from what I remember." **** Newspaper Article: Fell From Moving Auto: Cleveland Police Probing Car Death of Akron Woman Cleveland police today were investigation the death of a 22 year old Akron woman killed Friday night in an auto accident at E. 18th st. and Broadway there. Mrs. Lore Christine Robinson, of 55 Lella st. reportedly was killed when she fell from a car driven by attorney Joseph S. Wise, 39, of 497 N. Cleveland st., Mogadore. POLICE said Wise told them that he and Mrs. Robinson, a German divorcee who came to the U.S. about 12 years ago, were returning to Akron after visiting a Cleveland lawyer. Wise said that Mrs. Robinson had dropped a lighted cigaret into her lap. When she attempted to brush it off, he told police, she either accidentally or intentionally hit the door handle. Wise said the door of his 1964 Corvette flew open as they rounded a curve and Mrs. Robinson tumbled out. THE ATTORNEY said she was then struck by either a passing truck or a bus which failed to stop. Police said they are still checking to determine whether or not another vehicle was involved. They said that Wise's auto had continued for 260 feet from the point where Mrs. Robinson fell out before it stopped. Wise said he was driving about 25 miles an hour. Police added there were no skid marks of another auto, which usually are found in hit and run cases. POLICE said Wise, who is separated from his wife, and Mrs. Robinson both had been drinking but that Wise was not intoxicated. Until about two weeks ago, Mrs. Robinson had been employed as a waitress in a downtown retaurant. A spokesman for the Cuyaghoga County Coroner's office said an autopsy would be performed. Wise and Mrs. Robinson were involved in another accident last Sept 23 on West av. in Tallmadge. At that time, Mrs. Robinson was driving a 1962 station wagon which seared off a utility pole. Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of Mrs. Ernest Gross, of 1104 E. Turkeyfoot Lake rd. Mrs. Gross said her daughter and Wise were to be married soon. Turkeyfoot rd. Mrs. Robinson, a divorcee, was riding with Joseph S. Wise, 39, a lawyer of 497 N. Cleveland av., Mogadore. He told police that Mrs. Robinson dropped a lighted cigaret in her lap and that her elbow apparently struck the door handle as the car was rounding a curve. MRS. ROBINSON fell out and was struck by a passing bus or truck, which did not stop, Wise said. Cleveland police are still investigation. Results of an autopsy also are awaited. Mrs. Robinson who lived at 55 Lella st. Akron was a native of Germany. She is survived by a son, Guy Curtis, and her parents, Mr and Mrs Ernest R. Gross of Uniontown.
