• Notes

  Comfort's age in the 1860 census was 66 and in 1870 was 72 which gives estimated birth dates of abt 1794 and abt 1798. The info on her tombstone reads "Wife of Charles Jackson, aged 83 yrs, 4 mo, 14 days which gives a calculated birth date of 19 Aug 1797. Apparently both the Methodists and the Presbyterians have used this cemetery and Comfort and her family are listed at Find-a-Grave at both the First Presbyterial Church Cemetery and the Methodist Church Cemetery; therefore, having two memorial numbers. In 1816 Comfort, still single, subscribed to "The Society for Promoting Religious Knowledge in Rockaway and the Neighborhoods Adjacent" organized by Rev. Barnaby King.
